After winning a hard-fought bronze medal at the Beijing Olympics last summer, Wimbledon semifinalist Zheng Jie is hoping to go one better in London and grab gold at her third Summer Games if she can just hang in there for the next Olympic cycle.

"I really hope I can hang on until the London 2012 Olympics," China's No 2 told China Daily before heading to Hong Kong for an invitational tournament that begins today.

"I have already watched our national flag being raised in an Olympic tennis court. Now I am looking forward to hearing our national anthem played (a privilege reserved for Olympic champions). I want a gold medal."

Let the Games begin, says golden girl Zheng
