Taiwan public supports cross-Straits talks, surveys show

Most people in Taiwan are in favor of cross-Straits talks with the mainland, a survey has said.

According to a poll conducted on Friday by Taiwan's China Times, 56 percent of people said they were glad that agreements were reached during Chen Yunlin's visit to the province, and that Taiwan authorities should continue to promote exchanges.

Fifty percent said the agreements will have a positive impact on Taiwan's development.
