Special supplement: Red leaves back eco-tourism in Jiaohe

As is shown at the 7th Changbai Mountain Red Leaves Tourism Festival in Jiaohe, Jilin province, red-leaves-watching has become a pioneering step to further develop the province's eco-tourism.

The festival, from September 20 to October 10, is expected to bring a better understanding of the forest landscape and indigenous species of the Mount Lafa State Forest Park in Jiaohe.

Mount Lafa, 34,194 hectares in acreage, lies in the west of Changbai Mountain. As forest rate here reaches 84.8 per cent, the whole mountain seems to turn red in autumn, becoming quite a scene of natural beauty.
