Canada has repatriated Deng Xinzhi, suspected to have swindled 20 million yuan ($2.92 million), to China after five years, the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) said yesterday.
Welcoming the Canadian government's gesture, the MPS said the move shows it is committed to upholding the law.
Deng, a Beijing resident, and his fellow colluders posed as insurance company China Life's employees and cheated people of their money in the first eight months of 2002.
