Drug bust leads to 89 arrests in Guangdong

GUANGZHOU: Police yesterday announced details of a major drug bust in Guangdong Province that netted 89 suspects from five gangs.

Law enforcement officers worked with their counterparts from the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions for the operation.

Zhang Lei, head of the provincial bureau of public security, said that 16 drug-processing units in major cities in the Pearl River Delta region have also been uncovered this year.
