Local dialects being lost by younger generations

An increasing number of Chinese dialects are being forgotten by the people, but one man is determined to save some of them.

A retired Beijing worker, Wei Linhai, has collected more than 20,000 phrases in the Beijing dialect in the past two years.

Wei said his own efforts may be limited, but it could spur others to do the same.
