Drink more, eat lessBy Anthony Hua (cityweekend.com)
Updated: 2008-03-13 14:15 Despite polite service and a stylish, light-filled interior, a recent meal at this restaurnt was a study in contrasts. Sandwiches and salads are average priced and tapas appeared reasonable at RMB18. The wine list is shockingly cheap, likely the best value in town for Spanish bottles. But, when the tapas came, the serving size of exactly ONE bite was almost laughable. A waiter said most people order around five for a meal this lunch was no longer looking so reasonable. In contrast, the beef carpaccio (RMB68) was a large, beautifully-presented portion but was swimming in oil and had such a pungent lemon flavor that we didn't finish it. This one's a stellar choice for wine, but tapas require deeper pockets or miniature appetites. Bonito Mediterranean Restaurant &Lounge |
