THERE’S ALWAYS THAT STRUGGLE BEFORE THE VICTORY.

Synopsis:

v      Mouth, Monkey, and Jason are typical teenagers with a love for the game of basketball. On the last day of school, they get on the wrong side of Li Wei, the captain of the high school basketball team. Li Wei & his entourage swear to make the boys’ summer break a living hell. The conflict reaches a high point in the finals of the annual 3-on-3 basketball tournament. Will the boys win back their pride against the biggest bullies on the court?

About The FILM:

v      SLAM is scheduled for release in Singapore on 20th March 2008 through distributor Golden Village. This will be its world premiere.

v      SLAM is the second feature film by Writer/Director Jonathan Lim and Producer Christian Lee, who got their start making films in Singapore.

v      SLAM is a coming of age story set in Beijing, China’s rapidly modernizing capital city and host of the 2008 Olympics. This film is a reflection of what’s “in” and “happening” amongst China youth and it is full of action-packed basketball, while having strong themes of self-discovery, self-empowerment and lessons of never ever giving up.

Educational:

v      SLAM has been approved by the China National Education Association for Student Films Commission (which is a commission establish by the Ministry of National Education, the State Ministry of Culture, the State Administration of Radio and Television in China). This means SLAM is authorized as a red-headed document (given an outstanding film-purpose notice), which makes it a mandatory educational film for primary and middle school students in China.

v      SLAM will be working with Singapore’s Promote Mandarin Council’s Speak Mandarin Campaign, ARE YOU GAME? Through their distributor Golden Village. This year’s campaign focus is on the theme of sports, and is a great prelude to this Summers Olympics in China.
