Immaculate appearance(That's beijing)
Updated: 2007-04-18 09:09 Like lusting after a trophy wife in a sports car, our heads were turned by BBS Gastro Bar's immaculate appearance - the large plush chairs, the delightfully polite staff, and the photogenic dishes - but in the end we were left with no substance and a large credit card bill. The restaurant serves Italian fare, garnished with an Asian twist. We ordered from the lunch menu (RMB 105 for three courses), which comes with a complimentary beverage. The caprese salad arrived beautifully arranged, but the tomatoes were pappy and tasteless. The salmon with parsley butter fared much better, as it was well-seasoned and nicely pan-fried. But we were let down again by the insipid lime tart, which was neither lime nor tart. The restaurant is located inside a Brabus dealership, so unless you get hungry while buying a luxury vehicle (no trophy wife included), it's unlikely that you'll happen onto this establishment.
