Three-in-one eateryBy Emily Chu (City Weekend)
Updated: 2007-04-11 09:33 This charming eatery is located in a lane house splashed in bright orange. Leo, of Naked Cow, ushers you in with a warm welcome and encourages you to choose your seating to fit your occasion. We started with the shiitake mushroom risotto (RMB 28) and the signature Arugula salad with duck breast and a tangy orange dressing (RMB 48)–yum. As our main, we chose from the set menu: beef stroganoff with parsley rice (RMB 58) and a vegetable lasagne blanketed in bechamel sauce (RMB 48). The former was unsurprising; the latter had us clicking our tongues. What was it lacking? We were disappointed that the set lunch only provided a free beverage and nothing more. What we did love, however, was its interiors. Each floor evoked a different mood: a traditional restaurant design with a bar, a European ambiance with comfy couches and a balcony, and an airy space with orange banquettes. Feng shui elements are hidden within the walls! Next time, we'll stick to a la carte dishes. Call it arugula or call it "rocket"–this place is ready for a lift-off. Perfect for a date / a session with your clique / a relaxing drink. Arugula |
