En route to AfricaThank goodness the holidays are over and done with. Now, we can get back to some serious local partying. The gods of spring are blessing our town with a variety of new party concepts, new homegrown talent, and more interesting international acts.

Australian drum and bass act Pendulum at bonbon on March 3 was crazy packed and hot; just the way we like it. Wicked, indeed! Get your "Preak" on for April 14 with Dieselboy and MC Messinian for the next jungle massive at this sweaty venue.

Speaking of freaks, Wednesdays at Logo bar continues to be the best weekly in Shanghai, full stop. We've never seen such a creative, forward-thinking force of a party that's also friendly and fun.

Antidote returns to C's bar on March 29, highlighting new and classic African pop music -from soukous to Angolan Kuduro ghetto. Curious?

H Ludvigson (of Sweden's Substream records) has been organizing a variety of cool party concepts all over the city and we look forward to more of them–check out his Digfest on Saturday nights at Logo bar, or his new Thursday weekly at, yes, Moon River Diner in the New Factories. Now that's a new one for Shanghai–burgers, milkshakes, and indie-electro pop music!

For April Fool's day, Shanghai's infamous pranksters Top Floor Circus are hosting a talent show at 4 Live, which is guaranteed to be wild, wacky, and possibly, disturbingly fun.

Also, PAUSE is coming! April 8, Sunday afternoon; with live graffiti, fire-dancing, turntable tricks, and exciting new merchandise from local artisans and urban style designers. The location is a secret, so keep your eyes and ears open.

Finally, dkd's demolition party was a blast! We look forward to a new, improved version of this legendary Shanghai stalwart, re-opening near the end of April.
