Formula of good service

Rubbing up against one of two Pure Girls, Cox is a fitting name for the latest bar on a street rife with innuendo. Or perhaps that's just my childish mind working overtime. Opened by Saddle owner Chris Ryan, Cox adheres to the winning formula of good service, cocktails and bar food, though chicken wings rather than burritos monopolize the menu.

Seven wings go for RMB 30 and are available in a range of flavors. For a more substantial bar snack, try the RMB 35 chicken burger. However, the piece de resistance has to be the battered Snickers bar (RMB 15), which is on hand to sate the comedown cravings of Beijing's Scottish contingent. Cocktails are equally adventurous, from the Brett Hurricane (RMB 45) to staples such as margaritas (RMB 40). The inviting decor is complemented by Roadhouse podcasts, ensuring late-night drinkers-cum-diners finish their night to the smooth sound of blues.
