From 1902-1920, this three-storey building was the historical You Long Road Garden Residence. Today, it has been converted into a fascinating restaurant with five concept rooms.

We were ushered to the Party Room, decorated in a European countryside theme, with framed photographs hung on white washed walls above wooden furnishings. The innovative menu takes you on a gastronomic journey between East and West. We ordered a three-course lunch menu, with crabmeat triangles, Angus beef tenderloin and light chocolate cake (RMB 210). The first dish was our favorite, wrapped in nori and salmon, while the Angus beef tenderloin with king prawn and wasabi-infused noodles could have withstood a dash of salt. Nonetheless, BO is a diamond sparkling on the Huangpu riverside offering quality ingredients, friendly service and charming decor-all under one roof.
