Dongbei fare at friendly prices(cityweekend)
Updated: 2006-08-17 11:08
Nestled inside a multi-story "food mall," Biktime offers above average Dongbei fare at friendly prices, but does little else to distinguish itself from the assortment of neighboring restaurants. The tight space is cramped with too many tables, creating a slight discomfort, which the unremarkable brown and white décor does little to alleviate. Yet the unpleasant atmosphere is quickly forgotten once the food is efficiently served up within minutes of ordering. Refreshing and pleasant, dishes such as the needle mushroom with mashed garlic (RMB 8), fried pork chops with potherb mustard (RMB 26) and pork with sweet and sour sauce (RMB 18) are well-portioned. Must-tries include their specialty buckwheat noodles (RMB 12-16) and the fried pork shreds with soybean paste and thin tofu wraps (RMB 18). Perfect for: a quick, cheap filler |
