Amy's Pearls
Favoured by visiting dignitaries, this celebrated shop next to Xiangyang market stocks freshwater pearls from nearby Jiangsu province, China's biggest pearl region. Choose from a range of necklaces, earrings and bracelets, or have your own string of pearls made up from 15 yuan (prices go up to 48,000 yuan). The price is determined by a pearl's colour, shape and diametre. English-speaking staff can talk you through the process.
