Girl and Beer By Lucas Lee (That's Beijing) Updated: 2006-07-19 10:02
After squinting our way past the blinding neon welcome sign, and
settling into a comfy circular booth, my drinking companions and I all had the
same first impression of Wudaokou's newest pub: Korean Hooters.
For the uninitiated, "Korean" in nightlife-speak means beer (of all
varieties, RMB 10-25), soju (RMB 30) and lots of delicious deep fried food (try
the breaded cheese sticks, RMB 30, or the bacon-wrapped sausage, RMB 35).
"Hooters," on the other hand, is that infamous American chain featuring
waitresses in short orange skirts and midriff-baring halter-tops.
This restaurant's less-than-subtle name is a little tacky (albeit accurate),
as are those outfits, but come for everything else: tasty bar food and a
spacious, laid-back setting.
Korean Hooters Opening time: Daily 6pm-3am. Location:
No. 3 Zhongguancun Donglu (400 meters south of Tsinghua East gate, just past the
Intelli Fitness center), Wudaokou, Haidian District Tel:
