Relax: Loco

(That's Beijing)
Updated: 2006-04-18 10:21

Relax: LocoThough Loco's entrance is a little dodgy-looking-a plain purple wall with a closed wooden door-once inside the bar's mission statement is clear enough: relax.

A stylish blend of purple walls, mahogany tables, and red everything-else creates the mellow mood you need to shoot the breeze, smoke a hookah pipe (RMB 45) or play a game of Settlers (Monopoly, Jenga and Rummikub are also provided).

The drinks (RMB 20-35) are equally varied: tea, specialty coffee (their Vietnamese-style coffee isn't slow-drip but does have the essential sweetened condensed milk), and milkshakes (the Bailey's, at RMB 40, is excellent).

There's fresh juice for the sober crowd, or beer, sake, soju, and a long list of cocktails for those wanting more.

Hoping to stretch the boundaries of diversity even further, they have promised seafood, burritos, pasta and Asian fusion food (RMB 20-30) in the near future.

Location: 1/F, Bldg 4, Xijiao Hotel, No. 18, Wangzhuanglu, Wudaokou, Haidian District
Opening time: Daily 11.30am-2.30am
Tel: 010-62322288 ext. 4989
