Governments and responsible departments at various levels should improve their awareness of the importance of the ongoing reform of China's export tax rebating system, said Chinese Vice Premier Wu Yi Wednesday at a national conference on taxation work.
The reform should be viewed as the top task of the ongoing cooperation between taxation departments and trading sectors, said Wu.
During the past half year, the reform has reaped much fruit and been operating in a healthy way, she said.
"Overdue payment of export tax rebate in the past has been generally cleared and the central finance has arranged adequate money to clear new export rebate sums that would happen this year, " said Wu. "This has significantly lifted enterprises' confidence in expanding exports and promoted the optimization of the current export structure and the development of foreign trade," said Wu.
According to Wu, tax authorities should closely follow the course of the reform, and know about the its influence on the country's foreign trade export, in a bid to better China's ability in handling global economic changes and risks in the foreign economic and trade sectors, she said.
