Infrastructure development for Luqu tourism in Gansu

Project description: The project is to reconstruct 30kmof roads from Luqu to Zecha and from Luqu to Gongquhu and a 22kmof roads from Gongquhu to Zecha. In Zecha scenic spots, a flight of 30km stone steps for climbing mountains will be built, as well as a 5km plank roadway and railing. Two memorial archways to the parking lot will be set up and a 20km transmission line and facilities for water supply, drainage and refuse treatment will be installed. Two hotels for accommodation and entertainment will be built respectively in Zecha and Langmusi. One has a floor space of 8,300 square meters, the other 3,000 square meters, both equipped with heating systems. The project is also to construct a parking apron for helicopters as well as a hangar of 200 square meters, and purchase a helicopter and two automobiles.
Total investment: 49.64 million yuan (US$5.98 million)

Project background: Located in southwest of Gannan Prefecture, Luqu is well known for its snow-capped mountains, vast grasslands, ancient forests, stone forests, and beautiful rivers. Tourists can experience Buddhist culture and Tibetan customs.
Economic benefit forecast: 150,000 tourists can be received each year after the project is finished with estimated income of 18.85 million yuan (US$2.27 million) and profit of 6.3 million yuan (US$759,000).
