BEIJING: China's government and military agencies are sending more disaster-relief to help people in the quake zone to get through the difficulties and harsh weather, according to a government official Thursday.
The MCA, MOC,the National Development and Reform Commission, the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), the Red Cross Society of China and local civil affairs authorities have sent 49,480 tents and 164,700 cotton-stuffed coats to the quake zone, according to Pang.
They had also allocated 198,900 cotton quilts, 920 tonnes of rice, 3,680 tonnes of flour, 400 mobile homes, 20,000 folding beds, 650 mobile toilets and other quake-relief materials to the region.
Among them, 37,600 tents, 117,000 cotton-stuffed coats, 190,000 cotton quilts, 1,170 tonnes of drinking water and instant food, 100,000 portions of combat rations, 650 mobile toilets had arrived in the quake-hit Yushu in northwest Qinghai Province as of Thursday, he said.
