Death of reporter in Qinghai unconfirmed

The Publicity Department of Qinghai Provincial Government said on Monday they have not received any confirmations from the quake-relief headquarters on the death of a reporter, the Guangzhou Daily reported Tuesday.
There were media reports that the reporter showed signs of distress during his work in the quake zone. He was announced dead after failed life-saving attempts at a hospital. However, the reports did not say which media group he represented.
Qinghai's publicity department said they made contact with the quake-relief headquarters soon after the news. However, the headquarters said they have not received any reports or confirmations of the rumored death.
