60th anniversary an occasion for world celebration

"China...has emerged as a pillar of strength for the international community. It is a pillar of stability for the region. Therefore, I think collectively, the international community should celebrate the founding of the People's Republic of China."

'Violence should not be tolerated'

Mr Masood Khan, the Pakistani Ambassador to China, condemned the recent riots in China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and said violence should not be tolerated "under any circumstances".

Pakistani Ambassador Masood Khan visited China Daily's live studio at the Great Hall of the People March 5 and shared his views on the Governmant Report delivered by Premier Wen Jiabao earlier today.
