April 27—May 9, 1927: The Fifth CPC Party Congress is held in Wuhan

The central theme of the Congress is to determine the task of the party in times of emergency.

April 27, 1957: The CPC Central Committee issues "instructions on the Rectification Movement" which decide to conduct a rectification movement with "the proper handling of contradictions among the people" as the theme, with opposition to bureaucracy, sectarianism and subjectivism making up the content

April 27, 1962: The CPC Central Committee issues a "Notice on speeding up the screening work of the Party members and cadres"

April 27, 1988: The Central Military Commission issues "Provisional Regulations of People's Liberation Army civilian cadres"

Zhu De, born in Yilong County of Sichuan Province in 1886 and passed away in 1976, is a great Marxist, proletarian revolutionary, statesman and military strategist.

Chen Yi

A native of Le Zhi, in Southwest China's Sichuan Province, and awarded by the People's Republic of China the military rank of marshal; Served as the country's Vice Premier (1954-1972) and Foreign Minister (1958-1972)
