March 28—April 9, 1951: The CPC Central Committee holds the first national organization work session

The session put forward eight conditions on the standard for Communist Party members and passed "the resolution on rectifying the grassroots organization of the Party".

March 28, 1952: The Administration Council passes "regulations on punishing corruption in the People's Republic of China", which would be published and implemented on April 21

March 28, 1978: Deng Xiaoping points out while talking with the leaders of the Political Research Office of the State Council that we must adhere to the socialist principle of distribution according to work completed

March 28, 1997: The CPC Central Committee issues "several criteria on the clean governance of the leading cadres of the CPC Party", which proposes explicit and comprehensive norms for their clean governance

Chen Yi

A native of Le Zhi, in Southwest China's Sichuan Province, and awarded by the People's Republic of China the military rank of marshal; Served as the country's Vice Premier (1954-1972) and Foreign Minister (1958-1972)
