China-Europe Forum: In search of common ground

The Second China-Europe High-Level Political Parties Forum successfully concluded its second day's agenda Tuesday in Beijing.
Nineteen representatives from China and Europe made keynote speeches about China's 12th Five-Year Plan and the Europe 2020 Strategy. The topics were: "Directions for Economic and Social Development in China and Europe for the next Five to 10 Years", and "Points of Commonality between the Chinese and European strategies and new Opportunities for Cooperation".
Huang Huaguang, a spokesman for the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, said the two sides see common interests in their development strategies and look forward to new opportunities in the future.
The forum is held to provide high-level representatives the opportunity to be frank in talks on technology, education, energy conservation, environmental protection and employment issues.
