Fancy a car equipped with an aeroengine?
The first of such a combination, initiated and designed by a Chinese enterprise and handmade in Italy, has arrived in Wuhan, Hubei province, on Thursday after being transported by a China-Europe freight train.
The electric automobile can run for nearly 2,000 km, the company, Techrules, said in a news release.
It is expected to go under production at the end of this year, and 25 such cars will be produced each year, it said.
According to Chinese media reports, the car has been displayed at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
It would be transported to Shanghai next week.
The company said the application of aeroengine would effectively improve the situation where traditional engines consume much fuel and do much harm to the environment.
Western automotive industry observers were quoted by Chinese media saying it could be a game changer, while domestic industry insiders hoped that it would convey the nation's ability in independent innovation.
