China's top procuratorate finishes national inspections on judicial misconduct
BEIJING -- China's Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) sent 16 inspection teams to investigate judicial misconduct and improve regulation of judicial acts nationwide in April and May, said the SPP Monday.
During the inspection tours, 31 provincial-level procuratorates, 35 city-level procuratorates and 41 county-level procuratorates were inspected, according to a statement on the website of the SPP.
The inspections revealed that some procuratorates actively corrected judicial misconduct that had been strongly criticized by the public, including coercive measures and overlooking human rights, the SPP added.
Local procuratorates need to focus on key problems according to their different conditions, rather than trying to correct everything all at once, said the SPP.
