State Council appoints, removes officials
BEIJING -- The State Council, China's cabinet, announced the appointment and removal of several officials Tuesday.
Xu Lejiang was appointed vice minister of industry and information technology.
Ling Yueming was named vice minister of land and resources, to replace Wang Min.
Yin Yong was named vice governor of the People's Bank of China, replacing Guo Qingping. Liu Guoqiang was named assistant governor of the People's Bank of China, replacing Yang Ziqiang.
Zhao Yong was appointed deputy head of General Administration of Sport.
Li Yuanping was named deputy head of China's General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, to replace Zhang Qinrong.
Guo Wenqi was appointed deputy head of the China Food and Drug Administration, replacing Wang Mingzhu.
Song Zhe and Huang Liuquan were named deputy heads of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council. Zhou Bo was removed from the post of deputy head of the office.
Qian Feng, Liu Zhao were named deputy heads of Legislative Affairs Office of the State Council.
Yang Shubing was appointed vice director of the State Council Research Office.
Zhang Tao was named vice president of Chinese Academy of Sciences, replacing Li Jinghai.
Tang Huajun was appointed president of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS).
Li Jiayang was removed from the post of vice minister of agriculture and the president of CAAS.
