Chinese vice president to attend Fidel Castro's memorial activities in Cuba
BEIJING - Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao will attend memorial activities in Cuba for late Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castrol.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang told a routine press briefing here on Tuesday that Li will attend as President Xi Jinping's special envoy.
Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, paid a visit to the Cuban Embassy in Beijing on Tuesday morning to pay his respects to Castro.
Castro passed away on Nov. 25, aged 90.
