Father,44, encourages son by taking gaokao

A father from Southwest China's Chongqing municipality made a comeback in the 2016 gaokao 28 years after he took it the first time and after he had already been admitted to a university.

Luo Xiaoyan, who currently teaches Chinese in a primary school in Chongqing, said that he did it all for his son, a student dreading next year's gaokao.

"As a middle-aged man who has been away from high school for 28 years, I still have the courage to attend the gaokao once more. How come he, a student with 18 years of academic preparation can't overcome the barrier?" Luo asked.

He wants to inspire his son in this way.

The 44-year-old Luo was admitted by Southwest Normal University after his original gaokao, and the university has merged with another university to become Southwest University in 2005.
