A high-tech industrial park in Fuping county, Shaanxi province, will be upgraded to provincial level to further promote local economic development.
Fuping Emerging Industries Demonstration Park will be upgraded to Fuping High-tech Industrial Development Park, which can utilize relevant policies of the provincial level high-tech zones.
The provincial government issued the approval on its official website on Monday.
Construction on the former demonstration park started in 2011. In 2013 it was determined to be one of the pronvince's key industrial parks. The park is in the southeastern suburb of the county seat and is a neighbor to Yanliang, a Xi'an district famed as the home of China's China's aviation industry.
According the provincial government the park's area is 2.2 sq km and its future planning area will be 58.64 sq km. The park will focus on the development of the equipment manufacturing industry, biological industry, green food processing, high-end packaging and printing, and emerging services.Shaanxi now has three state level economic development zones, four state level high-tech development zones and 18 provincial level high-tech industrial development parks. It has injected more than 150 billion yuan ($24 billion) in investments from both foreign countries and other provinces and regions in China.
