State councilor to attend Russia BRICS meetings

BEIJING - Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi will visit Moscow on Monday and Tuesday for meetings with BRICS officials on security issues, the Foreign Ministry's spokesperson said on Thursday.

Hong Lei told a regular press conference on Thursday that Yang will attend the fifth meeting of high-ranking security representatives of the BRICS nations, including China, Brazil, Russia, India and South Africa.

He will also attend the 11th round of strategic and security consultation between China and Russia during the two-day trip.
