Thousands line for car purchase notarization in Shenzhen

Shenzhen residents and car dealers line up to notarize car purchase documents before applying for plates in Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center on Jan 5, 2015. The city started the notary procedures on Jan 4, and 6,000 reservations were booked up in a single day. Authorities in Shenzhen announced a car purchasing restriction requiring prospective buyers to acquire new car plates by lottery or auction on Dec 29. 100,000 new vehicle plates will be allocated annually for the city.
