Chen Haosu, president of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, has called for more effort to enhance China-Japan ties.

He said youth exchanges between two nations should be innovative since they are key to stable bilateral relations in the future.

He also warned that modern communication technology can spread and exaggerate the negative influences by “irresponsible behavior”.

Both sides should prevent the growing mutual appreciation between China and Japan from being destroyed by a few irresponsible people, he said.

He added that words or actions that stirred up strife, provoke or hurt the other side, or make sensational statements without sincerity should be condemned.
