BEIJING -- Some of China's e-commerce websites were found selling fakes in spot checks carried out by China's quality authorities.
The spot checks were made on discounted goods sold on many sites on Nov 11, a newly contrived shopping-fest, according to the State Administration for Industry and Commerce on Thursday.
Among 207 batches of samples, eight batches were confirmed to have counterfeits, it said. Seven other batches were found to involve sub-standard products or illegal labelling. Seven other samples were suspected to have fakes, but need further analysis.
The spot checks were carried out at tmall.com, jd.com, yhd.com, amazon.cn, suning.com, jumei.com, vip.com and lefeng.com.
The flaws were mainly found in shoes, luggage, accessories, cosmetics and electronic products.
