China vows to expand local cooperation with Russia

BEIJING - Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong met with the governor of Russia's Ulyanovsk region Sergei Morozov on Monday, pledging more local cooperation.

Speaking highly of Ulyanovsk region's commitment to enhancing cooperation and exchange with China, Liu said both China and Russia are willing to further regional cooperation as the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination continues to develop.

She called on the Ulyanovsk region to forge friendly ties with more Chinese cities and provinces, strengthen cooperation in the areas including economic and trade, education and "red tourism" (revolutionary tourism), so as to contribute to the development of bilateral ties.
