BEIJING - More smog will hit Beijing and surrounding areas from Saturday to Monday, an official specialist forecaster said on Friday.
On Saturday, the wind speed in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei province will reduce and disperse less smog. Central and southern Hebei and Beijing will suffer "slight smog," with visibility of four to six km, according to the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei air quality warning center.
From Sunday to Monday, humidity will increase, creating more conducive conditions for pollutants. "Medium smog" is forecasted in the region, with nighttime visibility as low as two km.
A cold front is expected to clear the smog on Monday night.
