China's first archeological ship, China Kaogu 01, starts its maiden voyage in Qingdao, in East China's Shandong province, on Sept 4. The ship, independently developed and built by the country at a cost of 60 million yuan ($9.78 million), is 57.91 meters long and 10.8 meters wide and has a loaded displacement of 980 tons.
