Madame Tussauds Beijing, which will open soon in the historical Qianmen area, unveiled a wax figure of real-estate tycoon Pan Shiyi on April 16 at the city's Wangjing Soho.

The real Pan posed with his smiling wax doppelganger and used the museum's online booking system at the ceremony to become its first guest.

Visitors can book tickets on the museum's official website and WeChat account as well as at online tourism agencies Ly.com, Ctrip.com and Lvmam.com. Those who book in advance can get a discounted ticket price of 98 yuan ($16).

Madame Tussauds Beijing will include an exhibition called Spirit of China, featuring wax likenesses of influential people in contemporary and modern Chinese history. Pan became the first candidate in the exhibit due to his contributions to charity and environment protection.
