Li Wufeng, Vice Minister of the SCIO, and Mayaki B. Musa, director general of the NTA, were present for the signing of the agreement on Sept. 17.

The first series of TV programs includes 12 documentaries that feature China's accomplishments in the economy, politics, culture, arts and the people's livelihood. They will be shown on NTA during prime time from Sept. 16 to 22. "Bringing China's TV programs to Nigeria will contribute to the friendship between China and Nigeria and also the needs of the market. There are many Nigerians coming to China, and also many Chinese going to Nigeria. Nigerians want to learn more about China," said Li.

This agreement is part of the "Experience China" activity held from Sept. 10 to 19 in the Nigerian capital Abuja by China's State Council Information Office, the Chinese embassy in Nigeria, the Nigerian Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Nigerian Federal Ministry of Education, and the Nigerian Federal Ministry of Information. It aims to expand the people-to-people exchange, enhance mutual understanding and deepen the traditional friendship between China and Nigeria.
