New cabin for blood collection in Beijing

A new, improved mobile blood donation cabin makes its debut at Dongzhimen area, Beijing, Sept 15, 2013. The roof of the trailer is equipped with three solar panels and the cabin has complete facilities and services. There will be another five blood collection cabins to be put into service in the next two months. In the new cabin, residents can donate platelets and plasma, blood components that are removed while the rest of the blood is transfused back into the donor's body. The new cabin is optimal as the very precise equipment and instruments needed for the procedure do not work well in a mobile blood collection vehicle. [Photo/Xinhua]
