Former Guangdong security official takes up Gree role

Chen Weicai, former director of the personnel division of the Public Security Bureau of Guangzhou, Guangdong province, has been appointed as deputy president of Zhuhai-based Gree Electric Appliances Inc, a leading manufacturer of air conditioners.
The appointment was approved at a board meeting of Shenzhen-listed Gree on Tuesday, according to a summary of the meeting issued on Wednesday night.
Chen, 41, who had been a deputy to the 11th and 12th National People's Congress, joined Gree in July.
It's reported that Chen met Dong Mingzhu, president of Gree Group, who is also a deputy of the National People's Congress, during the sessions.
Gree is a State-owned enterprise.
