China's civil organizations launched a donation event on Wednesday in Beijing for Chinese victims of Japanese aggression, Beijing Times reported.

The event, jointly launched by the Chinese Civil Claims Against Japan Federation, China Social Assistance Foundation and Tencent Weibo, plans to collect 365,400 yuan ($59,700) for 116 victims in a month.

Three victim representatives attended the event. Eighty-three-year-old representative Li Liangjie told his story of being kidnapped by Japanese at 14.
