Kunming police said that a case in which foreigners scuffled with a group of Chinese vendors has been resolved, Xinhua News Agency reported on Thursday.

On July 30, six foreigners and 15 Chinese were taken to the police station after a dispute in a restaurant in Kunming, Yunnan province, the report said.

Police said the incident started when a foreigner drove his electric bike into the booths of several Chinese vendors on crowded Wenhua Street. An argument ensued and he then ran into a restaurant. The vendors gave chase and gathered at the restaurant's front door.

The restaurant owner, also a foreigner, confessed that he used a spray agent on the crowd in an attempt to disperse them. Fifteen Chinese felt the effects from the spray, the report said.

Both parties reached an agreement and apologized to each other, police said. The restaurant owner paid 20,000 yuan ($3,260) in compensation to the injured.
