Rumors over PLA singer's suspension rejected
A prestigious PLA's song and dance ensemble rejected rumors that its singer Meng Ge was suspended because of her long involvement with the her son's rape lawsuit, people.com.cn reported Tuesday.
The Song and Dance Ensemble of PLA General Political Department hasn't issued any suspension notices to Meng, whether in written or oral form, according to the ensemble's publicity department, said the report.
Several singers from the ensemble said the organization will deal with its members on their work performance, and it is ridiculous if anyone is sacked because of family problems in a law-abiding society.
"Meng Ge didn't perform recently because she asked for leave to deal with her son's lawsuit, which is quite understandable," said a PLA singer.
Li Guanfeng, previously called Li Tianyi, the 17-year-old son of the well-known singers Li Shuangjiang and Meng Ge, was detained along with four other male suspects of raping a girl at a hotel in Beijing in February, 2013.
