Names of China plant fire victims released
CHANGCHUN - A local rescue command center in Northeast China's Jilin province on Friday released the names of 111 victims of a plant fire that occurred in the province on Monday.
DNA testing was used to identify the victims. Nine of the total 120 victims have yet to be identified.
The blaze, which broke out at the Jilin Baoyuanfeng Poultry Company on Monday, also injured 77 people, with 15 in serious condition.
Twenty-one of the injured have been discharged from local hospitals.
Zhao Xian, deputy secretary-general of the Changchun municipal government, said compensation for the victims will mainly come from the company, which has had its assets and bank accounts frozen.
The company's board chairman Jia Yushan, as well as its general manager Zhang Yushen, have been detained by police.
