Beijing opens senior posts to public
The capital will offer six senior official posts to the public with annual pay of more than 200,000 yuan ($32,600), the Beijing Times reported Tuesday.
The six will become senior executives of Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission, Municipal Commission of Transport and Administrative Commission of Economic-Technological Development Area.
The employment announcement was jointly published by Beijing Municipal Organization Department and Municipal Human Resource and Social Security Bureau.
All the candidates must have Chinese nationality and younger than 45. The process includes written tests, interview and comprehensive evaluation.
The successful candidates will be employed with contract periods of 2-3 years. The employees will be evaluated in work performance including morality and ability. Employees who fails the evaluations will be sacked.
Liang Yuping, an official with Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, said it's expected these employees may have an annual pay of 300-400 thousand yuan, four times that of an ordinary section chief.
The high salary can nourish honesty as well as show the value of these posts. It's difficult to cultivate high-end talent with backgrounds in international technology or biological medicine through the own system of civil servants, added Liang.
