62 hurt as light rail train derails in Hong Kong

HONG KONG - At least 62 people were injured after a light rail train derailed in Tin Shui Wai, Hong Kong, with three seriously hurt sent to Tuen Mun Hospital.

The light rail train, heading from Hang Mei Tsuen station and Tong Fong Tsuen station, derailed around 4 p.m. local time. There is no word yet on what may have caused the incident.

Those injured were carried out of the wrecked cabin after the accident. Most of them suffered minor bruises to their limbs and were treated at the scene.

A passenger said the train was going quite fast and was making a turn on Ping Ha Road when it suddenly derailed.

The accident forced the temporary suspension of light rail services in the area.
