Park admits lack of supervision over cub abuse
Jilin Provincial Siberian Tiger Park admitted lack of proper supervision on Friday over the mistreatment of a Siberian tiger cub.
A netizen put a photo online on Tuesday showing a tourist riding on a Siberian tiger cub, whose head was tied with a rope.
The cub in the photo belongs to an animal troupe from Anhui province, which rent a venue for performances in the park, according to He Xin, director of marketing department of Jilin Provincial Siberian Tiger Park.
The park has punished the troupe with a fine of 5,000 yuan ($812). Moreover, the manager of the troupe wrote an undertaking to guarantee such issue will not happen in the future.
