Salute builders of the 'Chinese dream'

BEIJING - China should lean on its people and their industrious, honest and creative work to realize the country's collective dream of national rejuvenation.

This was the call issued by the country's top leader Xi Jinping on Sunday when talking with outstanding workers ahead of International Workers' Day, which falls on May 1.

Happiness does not fall out of the blue and the dream will not come true by itself. Chinese people need to be down-to-earth and work hard.

Workers from all sectors are the primary force in building a moderately prosperous society and realizing the "Chinese dream" of national rejuvenation and they are, at the same time, beneficiaries when the dream comes true.

The country's rapid progresses have provided ample choices and opportunities for people to grow together with the country.

Labor is the source of both wealth and happiness. Beautiful dreams can only be realized through honest labor while various problems in development can only be solved by honest work.

All workers should combine their personal dreams, such as their desires to achieve their aims or family's happiness, with the national dream and fulfill their obligations to the country.

The idea that working hard is the most honorable, noblest, greatest and most beautiful virtue should be upheld.

Efforts should be made to protect the rights and interests of workers, build harmonious labor relations and ensure social justice so that all workers can live a dignified life.

Only by ensuring workers live a dignified life can the country maintain a healthy social order and the foundation for realizing the "Chinese dream" be consolidated.

There is a bright future awaiting China. However, it is impossible to achieve the goals without a hitch or to realize the blueprint overnight.

Happiness comes from hard work. And it entails harder work to achieve a brighter future.
